In this interactive workshop based on Asian character styles, artists Hardeep Sahota and Zara Hussain will lead you through some of the ideas and techniques behind creating anime characters and drawings.

Anime is a popular artform originating from Japan. The workshop will also take inspiration from Ms Marvel – the TV series featuring Marvel’s first Muslim superhero of South Asian heritage, teenager Kamala Khan.

This event is being delivered as part of the Huddersfield BID’s Comic Con activities.

Zara Hussain is a Bradford-based Illustrator and professional scribbler. She has presented her work in galleries across Yorkshire and has been commissioned to develop new illustrations for children’s book as well as many other creative projects.

Hardeep Sahota is a Huddersfield-based creative practitioner and educator. His most recent body of work explores Bhangra dance movements captured in energetic light paintings and showcased at Yorkshire Sculpture Park: https://ysp.org.uk/exhibitions/hardeep-sahota-bhangra-lexicon
