Join us for a walk and talk through history from the early houses, through the growth, embracing new communities and the modern era.

 

Sharing stories of the neighbourhood and the community. Mount Pleasant, Batley has been a home to a South Asian community for over 70 years during which it has continued to grow and serve the local community.

 

The walk will start at the Al-Hikmah Centre, walking to the PKWA before heading down Oxford Street, past the cricket and rugby grounds and into Taylor Street.

 

It is a distance of just under 1 mile and participants are asked to wear suitable clothing and footwear and bring water.
