Kala Sangam’s Calligraphy Workshop

Age guidance: all ages (under 16s should be accompanied by an adult)

Learn traditional Arabic calligraphy techniques using bamboo and hand-mixed ink in the Nastaliq Arabic script. At the workshop you will also learn how artist Razwan UI-Haq has fused traditional methods with modern art to celebrate the north of England through Arabic Calligraphy.

All materials provided and you are welcome to bring along a sketch book!

Razwan Ul-Haq is an artist and author, blending English poetry and Arabic Calligraphy. He is a widely exhibited artist whose work has been displayed in galleries and museums. His commissions include Land Art for the Tour de France and to celebrate the birthday of the Queen.

Kala Sangam is an intercultural arts hub, based in the centre of Bradford. We present a year round programme of events including dance, music, poetry and theatre. We have a particular focus on working with South Asian artists and art forms.
