HCMF: Sounds of Punjab: Chimta, Sapp and Kato

To celebrate South Asian Heritage month and as part of Sangam Festival, Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival (hcmf//) have worked with local artists Hardeep Sahota and Sunil Kalyan to produce ‘Sounds of Punjab’ – five videos introducing people of all ages to acoustic instrumentation found in classical and folk music from the Subcontinent.

These are being premiered via the hcmf// Instagram, Facebook and YouTube channels throughout the week commencing 14 August 2023. The fifth and final video in the series is an introduction to the Chimta, Sapp and Kato and can be viewed on YouTube here: Chimta, Sapp and Kato
