Open Day at the Sangam Festival Hub
Date – Monday 19th July, 12pm-2pm
Venue: Festival Hub, The Piazza, Princess Alexandra Walk, HD1 2RS
Age guidance: all ages (under 16s should be accompanied by an adult)
Come and join us at The Sangam Festival Hub to find out more about the fabulous events that are taking place throughout South Asian Heritage Month.
In attendance at the event will be West Yorkshire Archive Service who are creating an unique archive that will celebrate and preserve the rich history of South-Asian communities in Kirklees.
If your family has original photographs, travel documents, certificates, diaries, letters or other records, then they will be delighted to preserve them for you within the archive for current and future generations to discover and enjoy.
Please bring your items to the event to have them professionally scanned or physically preserved in the archive. The WYAS team will be on hand to answer any questions you may have and to share a fascinating exhibition of archives that South-Asian families have already preserved in the archive. For more information, please contact the archives team on 0113 535 0150 or Kirklees@wyjs.org.uk
